Cute & Kitschy Kitchens

Maybe it's because I've been spending too much time at home, but I've been really attracted to kitchen decor and aesthetics recently. I love the bright colors that some decorators have used, the rustic woods, and the beautiful natural light. It's probably kitchen-envy. My current kitchen, while LOADS bigger than our previous one in Cambridge, still lacks some desperately-needed character. I suppose I'll just keep adding to the bit of cute accents that I have to finally achieve the look that I want : )

Ode to: Old Cambridge Apartment

The place Jon and I left in Cambridge was our first place together, and while it was neither big nor fancy, it was ours. This was the first place that we got to call our own and we started what felt was like a family unit. Getting this place was imperative to the growth of our relationship and really tested and played with what we knew our relationship to be. I loved this place and our time spent here, and I'm really going to miss it.

Indoor Gardens

I can't imagine living without indoor plants. My mom always had a green thumb, and between the chaoticly manicured backyard and abundant indoor plants, I grew up surrounded by green things. The sad thing is that I tend to kill most things (including jade plants, spider plants, cacti, and the like) but Jon has a magical necromancer touch to bring any plant back from the dead. We have a number of plants in our current apartment, but we'll have to give most away before our upcoming road trip.Victoria is known for its temperate climate and ability to grow and sustain most plants, so we'll have to begin anew-- perhaps leaving a door open for us to start gardening!
